The Federation Of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) said that there is a huge potential to enhance trade with Malaysia.

India has recently signed the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) with Malaysia to scale up the trade relationship and stronger economic partnership between the two countries.

In order to capitalize the opportunities offered by CECA, FIEO signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Malaysia-India Chamber of Commerce on Sunday in the presence of the, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E A.Kohilan Pillay

FIEO anticipates there is a huge potential to increase India-Malaysia bilateral trade as it accounts for just 1.72 percent of India's trade, with 1.59 percent share of India's exports and 1.80 % of India's imports.

The MOU was signed by FIEO to supplement the efforts of the government to foster economic and trade ties by developing business to business contact.
