The 37th HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 21st electronicAsia, which are jointly organised with MMI Asia Pte Ltd., will run 13 to 16 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Together, the fairs will welcome around 4,300 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions, making the event the world’s largest electronics marketplace. State-of-the-art electronic products and components will be available at the two fairs.

First launched last year, the Tech Hall returns this year and comprises five themed zones: Robotics & Unmanned Tech, Virtual Reality (VR), Smart Tech, 3D Printing and Startup. The Startup zone features close to 100 start-ups companies, almost twice the number of last year, from Canada, Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and United States. They will bring along a wide range of innovative products from gadgets, smart home appliances, computer and smartphone accessories to mobile Apps.

The Hall of Fame continues to be a fair highlight, gathering more than 550 leading brands and stylish products including Binatone, Goodway, Motorola and VTech. Other themed zones include wearable electronics, audio visual products, electronic gaming and i-World, which features smart devices’ accessories.

Held concurrently with the Electronics Fair, electronicAsia is a premium sourcing platform featuring a wide range of products, services and technologies for industry players. The fair features the inaugural Power Supplies zone focusing on state-of-the-art green products and solutions. Electronic components and technologies including printed circuit boards, display technology, modules and technology for solar and photovoltaic energy, sensor technology and parts will also be showcased. Taiwan and Japan will have their own group pavilions.

The Symposium on Innovation & Technology will be held on the first day of the Electronics Fair (13 October), where Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), will be giving the opening remarks. Representatives of top technology enterprises, including Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft, Tencent and Huawei, will share their insights on state-of-the-art technology, such as the latest developments and applications of Mixed Reality, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and the Internet of Things (IoT).

A series of start-up-related events will also be organised during the fair, including "Startup, Smart Launch", "Tech Startups – Pitch, Mix and Match". Hong Kong Electronic Forum will be held on 16 October to discuss artificial intelligence and flexible electronics.
