E-business transformation

Is there any benefit of e-business transformation? Study suggests that e-business, when properly planned and managed, can increase productivity and lower down cost. It can help your business develop new clients and retain more of the existing customer base. Find here a step by step guide to move your company towards e-business-

1. Build a website and develop website content. You can find a lot of on-line information regarding web site design and structure. You can ease your work hiring a professional website designer and content writers. User friendly navigation features and content are the major requirements of any website.

2. Promote your site via e-mail "alerts" and newsletter development. Develop a company wide intranet and create standard operating procedures. Move towards the Internet based communication technologies such as IP telephony, VOIP, video conferencing, etc. Also motivate your clients and internal staff to use web based contact and communication.

3. Start web based outsourcing and purchasing.

4. Try web based marketing and sales development. Listen to trading and directory sites,be a member of a B2B portal and advertising on key target sites.

5. Develop e-based training programmes to create an e-learning environment in your organization. There is enough information available on-line, and for most of them you require to pay nothing.

6. Develop e-based research programmes for your company.

7. Introduce CRM (Customer Relationship Management) into your website to track and service client requirements.

8. Integrate data back up systems to ensure that adequate back ups are maintained both on and off site.

9. Integrating E payment systems into your website to speed up payment and dealing with different currencies.

10. Integrate courier and vehicle tracking technology to ensure hassle free solution to specific delivery requirements.

Most of SMEs hesitate to be part of the e-business revolution mainly due to lack of proper knowledge and skill. There is no doubt that the process involves difficulties but a little bit of e-skills is enough to overcome them. In the recent times, the Internet has changed the way we do business. There is no geographical barrier to the Internet trading. Buyers and sellers are only a few clicks away and we can transact with them within seconds at the comfort of our home. Thus, e-business has changed the very concept of doing business. Make sure you are part of this change.
