A large number of Indian Micro, Small and Medium enterprises are still relying on outdated on-premise PBX phone systems and they should shift to Cloud PBX to enhance their businesses communicate internally and externally, said Raman Singh, Co Founder and CRO, CloudConnect Communications.

Excerpts of the interview …

Please tell our readers about entrepreneurial journey of Cloud Connect.

Raman Singh: In 2016, CloudConnect’s founding team members analyzed the global and Indian ICT market with a specific focus on Business-to-Business Mobile-First Cloud Communications. They found that the country was ripe for Virtual Network Operators (VNOs) to unleash disruptive SaaS-based business models and innovative services, based on a comprehensive VOIP – PSTN blended Unified Communication & Teleworking Stack. Thus, the Proof of Concepts and Pilots for CloudConnect were commenced in early 2018.

Gokul Tandan (Executive Chairman – CloudConnect Communications), an IIMC and St. Stephens alumni, and founding Executive Team Member of the HCL Tech Group, along with Rajendra V. Kulkarni (Director, Finance – CloudConnect Communications) were the initial investors for the brand and infused $2 million into the growth of the business.

Today, CloudConnect is India’s first and only end-to-end cloud & mobile app-based PBX and digital unified communication (UCaaS) services pioneer. We offer robust enterprise communication services that help organizations maintain seamless business communication and continuity. We have already had a total of 50+ clients only within 60 days of going live. Some notable clients include Trade India, Berkowitz, Panacea Biotech, Timbl, EconStra, AIPL, Indian Cyber Army, Aurven and more.

Cloud Contact center solution

We facilitate India’s first fully cloud-based contact center. With this, the organization’s sales, customer service or technical support teams are always working from wherever they are.

Please tell how cloud PBX on mobile can help small & medium businesses?

Raman Singh: A large number of Indian MSMEs are still relying on outdated on-premise PBX phone systems. However, in this digital-first world, these solutions are no longer efficient or productive. In fact, they are not a solution at all but an added cost.

CloudConnect transforms the way such businesses communicate internally and externally with an end-to-end cloud & mobile app-based PBX & Digital Unified Communication system.

Our integrated and seamless digital solutions include customized IVR, audio/video conferencing, Click2Call, location-based call tracking, and more. These services can be easily integrated within the company’s existing CRM, website or app to enhance communications cost-effectively.

What are the plans for 2020? What will be the key focus areas?

Raman Singh: We plan to scale our services to 10 more circles within this period. Also, our focus would be to keep innovating continually and helping our customers to increase the productivity of their workforce. By the end of this year, we plan to acquire 600 to 700 enterprise customers in the Delhi/NCR circle.

Which kinds of innovation customers can expect from Cloud Connect?

Raman Singh: CloudConnect is poised to be India's no. 1 disaster recovery and business continuity solution provider with employees working from anywhere, anytime yet all reports and analytics being regularly raised to concerned managers. Our innovative fully cloud based omni channel contact center solution is the first move in India. We also offer fully white labelled video conferencing and webinar solutions which can be expanded upto 100 users and more if required. Mobile first business telecom service with business identity definitely is needed by a business of all sizes.

What challenges you face with respect to cloud telephony and how can they overcome them?

Raman Singh: Since the company is led by a team of industry veterans with over 200 years of combined experience, building the business was not a challenge. However, we did have to focus a lot of our energy on educating companies about CloudConnect Communications and its services. However, this is always a challenge for first-movers in any industry. Once organizations started understanding that we are offering them a solution (not just a service), the challenge was easy to overcome.

How does Cloud Connect differentiate itself from the competition?

Raman Singh: We are India’s first end-to-end cloud & mobile app-based PBX and unified communication (UC) & Professional Teleworking services pioneer. Simply put, we are a business telecoms provider which offers everything from virtual mobile and fixed-line, full EPABX feature-rich telephony, presence, secured instant messaging, multi-file attachment, video conferencing, remote collaboration, and more.

Moreover, all businesses with ISO certifications or large corporate and MNC's require business continuity plans so that all their files, documents, applications and software are safe and secure on the cloud. However, most of them do not have such solutions for their telephony systems. That's a sweet spot where only CloudConnect sits. We offer business continuity in terms of business communications and remote working. Additionally, we are the only provider that offers all of this plus a cloud-based contact center solution.

What will be your go-to-market strategy for the Indian enterprise segment?

Raman Singh: We have a 360-degree marketing program wherein digital marketing is our key differentiator. Apart from that, we are also deploying physical teams for feet-on-street marketing and delving into telesales as part of our all-encompassing customer acquisition program.
