The small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can take the advantage of online GST compliance platform for filing return as it is not only simple but also very cost efficient, the Co-Founder of EasemyGST told SME Times.

EasemyGST is an online platform that aims at providing world-class GST compliance technology infrastructure to enterprises & assisting them in adapting to the GST regime. It has been developed by a team of CA Professionals having solid technology experience, and supported by acclaimed legal professionals and various domain experts.

Excerpts of the interview...

Please tell something about your group - EasemyGST. Like what is EasemyGST and how it works?

Prashant Lohia: We know that GST has been implemented and undesirably, to a lot of scepticism. In the GST regime, all the tax compliance will be met through technology and an endless amount of paperwork will be a thing of the past. EasemyGST is an online platform that aims at providing world-class GST compliance technology infrastructure to enterprises & assisting them in adapting to the GST regime. It has been developed by a team of CA Professionals having solid technology experience, and supported by acclaimed legal professionals and various domain experts.

EasemyGST uses that latest technology to provide cloud and mobile-based applications which are synchronised with the government's GST portal, to standardise and streamline all the tax work of the enterprises. You can upload invoices - both automatic (via ERP Integration) and manual (via in Excel) options available, reconcile invoices, file your GST returns, manage your Vendors and Customers, view detailed GST Reports and so much more on EasemyGST. In fact, we are India’s first end-to-end GST compliance provider, i.e., right from ERP integration to return filing.

How and when this idea came to your mind to start something like - EasemyGST?
Prashant Lohia: Prashant Lohia: It was the month of November 2016, when GST was starting to become the buzzword. My Co-Founder Ashish Mittal and I discussed spending many days and hours on how should we ease the adoption of GST for enterprises. Thus, we decided to move forward on building a technology solution which can be pretty much Whatsapp of the GST compliance platform.

What is the present structure of your group?
Prashant Lohia: The group is structured, comprising of product development team, sales team and support team headed by industry veterans in each domain.

Do you serve small entrepreneurs too? What specific product do you have for SMEs?
Prashant Lohia: Yes, our focus is primarily small and medium enterprises who would like a simple technology platform for compliance. The platform provides very simple process and interface for entire GST compliance from invoice uploads to return filing.

SMEs are very sensitive to cost related issues. So how cost efficient is your platform?
Prashant Lohia: The platform is currently priced cheaper than price of dinner meal in a good restaurant. An SME can pay as low as Rs. 1500 per month for the entire compliance.

Being a startup, what challenges you had gone through?

Prashant Lohia: To be honest, the journey has not been smooth like any other startup. Challenges including changing laws, scepticism around the launch dates and resistance from people in adoption, etc. I think we had our own share of adventure. We hit a few roadblocks and, there were moments of doubt, but the most important thing is that we never lost sight of the goal. We believe that ‘when you’re on the right path, things stop being easy’.

How you see the idea of Start up India campaign? What else government can do to help/support startups?

Prashant Lohia: Startup India has been a real game-changer for our rapidly developing economy. It has provided the much-needed flip to the startup ecosystem in our country. In the times when the younger generation is continuously searching for options to work and settle in the developed countries like the US and the UK, the government has taken a very prudent step to reinforce the idea of entrepreneurship in the ambitious young minds. But there is so much more that can be done.

What are your future plans?

Prashant Lohia: We plan to grow EasemyGST as platform of choice for GST compliance for SME and Enterprises. The platform will pre-integrate with most ERPs so as to provide seamless return filing experience. GST is the epitome of digital India and we at Easemygst are making it easy and hassle free ride for the nation.

When the SMA businesses are facing challenges and seeking oxygen for survival, this nincompoop is saying Rs.1500 and Rs.5500 per month packages for GST filing while there are other providers who charges Rs.2500 and Rs.5000 per annum. "Leba"
