A memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony of esteemed project 'IT Maha Abhiyaan' for transforming micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to Digital MSMEs was held in New Delhi on Thursday.

An initiative of PHD Chamber to build capacities of MSMEs by making them IT enabled through an alliance of IamSMEofIndia and Cluster Innovation Center, Delhi University.  

The objective of this alliance is to build capacities of MSMEs with the aim of promoting excellence in enabling IT infrastructure in MSMEs by leveraging technology and services to the changing market conditions thereby transforming MSMEs to "Digital MSMEs".

Dr. Dinesh Singh, Vice Chancellor, Delhi University in his opening speech gave example of how Gandhiji associated himself with the people and started the Charkha Abhiyan which in itself was the starting of laghu udyog.

He also reflected on the Tagore's idea on education and its relevance in today's world. He mentioned the initiative taken by the University of Delhi to bring education outside the four walls of the classroom and connect with the society. He laid great emphasis on hands on education.

He also emphasized on preparing new algorithms and software's that benefit the society as a whole.

Rajive Chawla, Chairman, IamSMEofIndia said that this platform will give a direction to produce entrepreneurs rather than employed youth. He mentioned that this was a win-win situation for MSMEs in India as it will empower them to scale up the productions using IT skills in their business module.

Saurabh Sanyal, Executive Director, PHD Chamber had welcomed the initiative that aims to bring continuous improvement in MSME sector.

In this endeavor, PHD Chamber shall facilitate, leverage member network and co-manage this initiative.
