Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin
Gadkari said on Thursday said that over twenty two thousand MSMEs Zero Defect,
Zero Effect (ZED) scheme.
More than 22,288 MSMEs have registered themselves to take up
Zero Defect, Zero Effect (ZED) manufacturing under ZED scheme, said Gadkari in
written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.
The Quality Council of India (QCI) have organized Industry
Awareness Programme, training for Enterprise Capacity Building, training of
officials of implementing agencies, Consultants/Assessors/Master Trainers’
training.
Online Self-Assessments, Desktop Assessments and Site
Assessments have carried out and ZED ratings have been awarded as provided for
under scheme guidelines.
ZED Scheme aims to rate and handhold all MSMEs to deliver
top quality products using clean technology. It will have sector-specific
parameters for each industry.
MSME sector is crucial for the economic progress of India
and this scheme will help to match global quality control standards.
The slogan of Zero Defect, Zero Effect (ZED) was first
mentioned by PM Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech in 2014.
