In order to enable Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) migrate to Industry 4.0 version, engineering major Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Ltd on Friday unveiled an intelligent platform called 'Phantom'.

"The Phantom platform makes SMEs use advanced data analytics, machine learning and automation for switching over to Industry 4.0 version," said the subsidiary of German industrial behemoth Bosch GmbH at a tech event in Bangaluru.

The platform supports SMEs to draw digital roadmaps for manufacturing plants, machine intelligence and energy analytics.

"Phantom improves the efficiency of the SMEs with a retrofit solution installed in a machine, gathers production patterns and provides insights on its usage, benchmarks, trends, losses and best practices," said company Vice President K. Swaminathan at its preview at the Bengaluru Tech Summit.

"Each entrepreneur will have a dedicated portal to catalogue his journey, knowledge and his position in the industry through the platform benchmarks," said Swaminathan.

The digital solution provides consulting and advisory support for SMEs to be on par with industry practices, access frameworks, methodologies, processes and tools.

"Phantom will help SMEs jump start their digital transformation. Our vision is to provide smart solutions to the SMEs," company Managing Director Vijay Ratnaparkhe said.

As an ecosystem on the cloud and on-premise for manufacturing efficiency, real-time alerts and notifications for actionable insights, the platform's portal and dashboard offers visibility of factory operations, worker productivity and machine effectiveness.

"Phantom automates data capture and provides timely, bias-free, accurate data that form the basis for managers to set targets, track performance, analyse and improve on a continuous basis," said Ratnaparkhe.

Terming the platform that lasts for a product lifecycle, company's digital labs head Uday Prabhu said the benefits of the Industry 4.0 version would be realised after a seamless integration of the value stream, including partners such as suppliers and logistics providers.

"SMEs can get on the platform and pace their shift to Industry 4.0 and strive for global competitiveness in cost and quality," said company Vice President Dattatri Salagame.

The platform has been designed for multiple industries to go digital through customised advisory sessions, consulting workshops and a content rich portal.
