Tradeindia.com celebrates silver jubilee

Infocom Network Ltd, the parent company of tradeindia.com, India's
leading business-to-business (B2B) portal, celebrates its silver jubilee
at Siri Fort auditorium in New Delhi on Saturday.
Infocom Network Ltd was founded by Mr Bikky Khosla in 1991. The company later started www.tradeindia.com, an online business-to-business portal, which is widely considered as a founding stone of the country's B2B e-commerce sector.
On
the occasion, Founder and CEO of the company, Mr Bikky Khosla said, "It
is a milestone for us. Infocom's journey began in 1991, when we started
publishing India's first ever trade directory on manufacturers and
exporters, 'Exporters Yellow Pages', which was followed by the launch
of tradeindia.com. It was a time when the Internet was just beginning to
flex its muscles and our objective was to ensure easier and faster
accessibility of products, services, or information to the exim
community. Today, we have over 30 lakh registered users and the number speak for themselves."
"I
congratulate the company's employees and the valued customers without
whose cooperation such a long and successful journey would have not been
possible," Khosla added.
Mr. Khosla is a well-known
personality in the Indian industry, for his pioneering contribution to
the realm of B2B e-commerce. Presently serving as the Chairperson of
ASSOCHAM 'National Council on e-Commerce.
Besides, Mr
Khosla has relentlessly been defending the interests of the SME
community. He was nominated to the Working Group under the Planning
Commission for the 11th Five Year Plan (2007-2012) for micro & small
scale enterprises and agro & rural Industries. He is also ex
chairman of ASSOCHAM 'Expert Committee on Small and Medium Enterprises
(SMEs)'.
Tradeindia.com, the brainchild of Mr Khosla, today has more than 30 lakh registered users, spread across the world.
