Union Minister of
State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region, Jitendra
Singh, said that India is a "happening" place today and soon the country
is destined to become a trendsetter in global economy.
Singh was addressing
the Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) Awards function organized by the
Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI), on Tuesday.
Congratulating the young achievers and award winners in the field of Cost and
Management Accountancy, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, "you deserve kudos because you
have made it on your own and in the years to come, you have an important role
to play because India is progressing by rapid strides and the role of cost and
management accountancy is bound to increase manifold".
"You form the backbone of not only Indian economy but that of the 21st century
India", said Dr. Jitendra Singh and added that this is what makes all the
difference and also makes everyone’s role much larger and crucial than ever
before.
Referring to the rise in Growth rate, Singh said, even though during the last
one year after the Modi Government took over, the Growth rate has shown a
constant steady rise, but our target is to achieve a double-digit Growth rate
for which you can also contribute by suggesting the suitable pricing mechanism.
Referring to various
innovative schemes launched by the Modi Government, he said, pro-poor schemes
like "Jan-Dhan Yojana" and "Atal Pension Yojana" are in
fact not only a means of productivity and the economic security but these also
bridge economic and psychological gap among various sections of India's
heterogeneous society.
Emphasising that India is presently going through one of the best times, the
minister said that greatest advantage
for the Indian economy today is that the present political establishment is
favourably inclined.
On behalf of the
Government, he assured that it is committed to provide an environment which is conducive to the promotion of
economy.
