The Global Exhibition on Services(GES), a three-day event to be organized by the Commerce Ministry from April 23-25 at ITPO, New Delhi, will focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the services sector, along with some other key industries, including, IT & Telecom, tourism, media & entertainment, healthcare, logistics, professional services, education, R&D and space.

The Commerce Ministry said this in an official release on Tuesday.

The exhibition will be organized by the ministry in association with Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and Confederation of Indian Industry(CII).

"This would be the first of its kind integrated exhibition," the release quoted Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as saying, while briefing the media persons in the national capital.

She informed that more than 40 countries are expected to participate in the fair and GES will discuss ways for the Services sector to become more competitive globally to generate more wealth and employment.

Inaugurating the website www.GESDELHI.in  that contains the information about the GES, Sitharaman informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Global Exhibition on Services.

Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, J.S.Deepak gave a presentation on the GES.

With the aim to create a global platform for increased trade in services, the Exhibition would be a meeting place for countries, for global service sector players to forge new business relationships and enhance international trade in services.

Participation in this Exhibition is expected from foreign governments, foreign corporates, service providers, business leaders, corporates, PSUs and Indian State Governments.

Interaction among international services sector players, day long seminars on various focus sectors and dedicated B2B meetings for all sectors to strike useful partnerships will be organized under the event.
