'MSME Min committed to grow women entrepreneurs'

Ministry for Micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) is committed to grow women entrepreneurs in MSME sector, which share only 13.72 percent in organised sector, said Vayalar Ravi, Minister MSME, in the national capital today.
"Women play a very important role in growth of Indian economy. Government is committed towards encouraging the women entrepreneurs and solving their problem who involved in women entrepreneurship," said Ravi after inaugurating the three-day long 12th Global Conference and Exhibition on "Trade Liberalization and its Global Impact on Women Entrepreneurs" in Delhi on Monday.
He said, "The MSME sector contributes to about 45 percent of the total manufactured output and nearly 40 percent to India's exports. There are about 26 million MSMEs in the country, providing employment to more than 60 million persons. Out of total 15.64 lakh registered enterprises 2.15 lakh (13.72 percent) are women entrepreneurs."
"Empowering women entrepreneurs is essential for achieving the goals of sustainable development and the bottlenecks hindering their growth must be eradicated to entitle full participation in the business. Ministry of MSME has a range of schemes targeted specifically to help the women entrepreneur," he added.
While Secretary, MSME Ministry, R.K Mathur said, "Of the total 1.9 million women-owned enterprises in India of which only 215,100 are registered, the share of southern states is the highest."
Tamil Nadu leads the country with 55,000 women-owned enterprises, followed by Kerala with 38,000, Karnataka at 27,000 and Gujarat 23,000. Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in the country has only 8,000 women-owned MSMEs, with Bihar, too, with a poor 2,600 units, reports media.
"The status of women in society in a particular state is defined by the level-playing field that she gets in all fields. Enterprise formation and societal status need to go hand-in-hand," said Mathur.
MSME Minister along with Mauritius Minister has inaugurated the event. Around 800 women entrepreneurs are attending this conference form 50 countries across the world including Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Women entrepreneurs from Islamabad women chambers and other exhibits their product through more than 50 stalls also.
Mauritius Mminister, Mireille Martinshe Martin invites Indian women entrepreneurs to come to their islands and explore market and opportunities.
"I invite you to explore opportunities and have alliances or joint ventures with your counterparts in Mauritius in areas like skill development, technology and equipment," she said.

I would like to know the benefits available to entrepreneur like me. How to enroll as SME. What are the advantages. I want to start trading business do i get any support from any of the organizations in terms of technical know how/rules/regulatory compliances.
