The MSME ministry is to call a meeting next week with the IT giants to discuss how to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in adopting cloud technologies, said a senior official in the Ministry of MSME.

Companies such as Microsoft, TCS, IBM, Oracle, Intuit, and Sales Force will be part of the meeting.

"I am calling a meeting of all six major players. We will call them and have a transparent service level agreement," added  the Additional Secretary, MSME Ministry, Amarendra Sinha.

"We are talking to everybody. We are working closely with everybody to support MSMEs," Sinha told SME Times.

"The Ministry of MSME is going to support the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in adopting the cloud technologies. This will enable them to become globally competitive. It will bring down their costs of technology adoption enormously," he said.

According to a recent study conducted by an advisory firm Zinnov, total domestic IT spending is likely to increase at 12 percent CAGR crossing USD 36 billion mark by 2015. SMEs will grow at 15 percent CAGR and will contribute USD 15 billion by 2015.

Also the study estimated that at present about 5 lakh Indian SMEs have websites and 2 million SMEs have access to Internet. Presently, 4 million Indian SMEs are using PCs which is likely to increase at 30 per cent from 2011 to 2015.
