In order to clear export and import cargo on time, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Tuesday announced that customs clearance and other facilities will be provided at eight airports and seaports round-the-clock from Aug 25.

The airports are Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai. The four ports where the service will be available are Chennai, Kolkata, Kandla and JNPT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust), Mumbai.

"The 24x7 operations would begin on a pilot basis with customs operations along with all other complementary services. This would be initially for four months after which efforts would be made to expand similar operations at other locations," the PMO said in a statement.

The PMO said the service will be available for certain categories of imports and exports.

For imports, the category "no assessment no examination" will be covered. This would account for 70 percent of imports.

"For exports, the facility could be extended to those exports not claiming benefits," it said.

WHY PMO SAID the service will be available for certain categories of imports and exports. WHY NOT FOR ALL?

exports growth

Sir, we are getting into negative export growth just for the reason that no new entrepreneur is entering the export business because of the risks involved in international business in the present scenerio. Furthermore, its India's own domestic market which is more lucrative for the domestic manufactures and importers. It is high time our Govt. comes out with special packages foe exporters like: 100% tax free Income from export sales as used to be in the early 1990's. We could get billions of dollars of Forex into the country, if the Money coming into India from overseas is not taxed, like once done in the Budget of our then FM, S. Manmohan Singh when he allowed foex coming in from friends and relatives was exempt from the payment of Income Tax. Another plan to boost the GDP is to allow all housing construction activity made unaccountable, that is, those who build own houses are neither asked the source of their investment nor asked to file completion, Let the FM ty this on trial basis and feel the results for a cuple of months. The FII coming in; which we have allowed goes back in to the Tax heavens many folds and not giving any purposeful benefit to the economy of the Country, except for the manipulation of the Indian Stock Market. Beware sir, of the FDI, it is making us more dependent on foreigners than our own resources, which are in abundance

please read this last line clearly:::"For exports, the facility could be extended to those exports not claiming benefits,", so this is 100% sure that exporters claiming the benefits of Duty Drawbacks shall not be covered.
