Chevrolet India on Tuesday announced a price rise across all its models, effective from January 1, 2017.

According to the company, the estimated price increase on all the Chevrolet cars will range between one and three per cent depending on the product and variant.

"In the adverse market conditions the price hike is necessitated on account of higher manufacturing cost as the input prices surge year-on-year," Hardeep Brar, Vice President of Sales and Network at GM India was quoted as saying in a statement.

"In line with the industry practice and rising manufacturing and other administrative cost, we proposed a price increase across our product line in India."

The company pointed out that increase in foreign exchange rates coupled with high inflationary cost has led to a considerable rise in raw material pricing and higher manufacturing cost in the sector, which is the primary reason for the price hike.

Chevrolet is currently running the year end festive offers ‘Dumdar December' on all the product models and has witnessed a positive response from the customers for the year-end retail campaign.

However, the offers and discounts that are currently available on Chevrolet cars will also be revised downwards.
