India's tea exports fell by 9 percent to 89 million kg in last 6 months while coffee exports increased marginally from January 1 to August 25.
Currently, India exports about 208 million kg of tea annually. But in last 6 months, the exports have fallen by 9 percent to 89 million kg.
Indian tea industry is planning to woo Russians, which is the world's fourth-largest consumer of tea.
A delegation of Indian tea producers, merchant exporters and auctioneers is set to visit Russia and other nations in the region next month.
Total coffee exports of the country stood at 2,20,113 tonnes from January 1 to August 25, as per data of the Coffee Board, up 1 per cent year-on-year.
