Toyota Kirloskar Motors announced on Thursday it recorded 11 percent sales growth from January to September 2015 with the sale of 1,06,717 cars compared to 96,307 cars for the corresponding period in 2014.

It attributed the increase in sales to the growing popularity of Etios series of cars and the success of new Camry.

In September 2015, Toyota announced the overall sale of 12,653 cars for all its models.

However, sales of Etios Series of cars declined in September 2015 in the domestic market with 11,401 units compared to 12,542 units in September 2014. Exports also dipped.

Toyota exported 1,252 units of Etios series cars in September 2015 against 1,502 last year.

"We are hopeful that with the recent repo rate cut and the approaching festive season, we will soon see a boost in sales in the upcoming months," said Toyota Kirloskar Motors' director and senior vice president, sales and marketing, N. Raja.

The firm's popular models include Etios, Etios Liva, Etios Cross, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Fortuner, Corolla Altis and Innova built at its two manufacturing plants with a total installed production capacity of 3,10,000 units.
