The Goa government has identified over 250 industries which will further Prime Minister Narendra Modi's skill development dream as far as the state is concerned, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said Tuesday.

"The government has already identified 250 industries which are in need of skilled manpower and has also identified (industrial) plots in different parts of the state where the industries can be set up," Parsekar said at a school function in Dharbandora, a new sub district in south Goa, 50 kms from here.

The Goa government's much touted Investment Policy lays stress on green industries like IT, IT enabled services, pharmaceuticals, services, and tourism to further the National Democratic Alliance government's skill development and employment initiatives. The policy aims at attracting investment to the tune of Rs. 25,000 crore and creating 50,000 jobs.

Parsekar also said that those students who are "not so good in studies" could earn more by developing their skills in various trades.
