Tech Mahindra Wednesday launched nationally its affordable mobile job marketplace -- "Saral Rozgar" cards -- to help blue-collar job seekers connect with mainstream employers via mobile phone in their own language.

"We are thrilled to introduce 'Saral Rogzar' cards nationally. In the past two years, we have registered close to two million subscribers across 800 locations in India, and have successfully engaged more than 50,000 job seekers with prospective employers," Jagdish Mitra (Head - Mobility Business), Tech Mahindra said.

"Currently, there are more than 37 crore blue-collar workers who are unskilled or semi-skilled. Our aim is to reduce this socio-economic imbalance and bridge the digital divide by ensuring that job seekers get ample job opportunities," he added.

Job seekers can access the service by buying the card for Rs.50 and registering through a simple voice call in the preferred language. The cards will be available at more than one lakh point-of-sale outlets with the telecom recharge retailers.

"Currently, 'Saral Rozgar' has more than one lakh job openings in 100-plus job categories. In Delhi and NCR region, we have more than 15,000 jobs identified in the major industrial clusters of Dharuhera, Manesar, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Sahibabad and Dadri," Vivek Chandok (vice president, mobility VAS product and portfolio) Tech Mahindra, said.

He added: "The top job categories in demand are retail, accounting, tailoring, electrician, machine operator, cook, security guard, food and beverage executive, and delivery boys, among others."
