Mahindra First Choice Wheels, one of India's largest multi-brand pre-owned car companies, Friday said it is eyeing a high sales growth in premium car category on the back of rising brand consciousness as well as easy availability of such vehicles.

The firm's sales in the premium category doubled to almost six percent of the total 46,000 units sold in the last fiscal. This category had contributed to three percent of its total sales then.

"The premium segment is going to see further growth, mainly driven by increasing brand consciousness and easy availability of such cars," Mahindra First Choice Wheels Ltd. vice-president, operations and network, Yatendra Chadha told reporters here.

Chadha said the company was aiming to clock about 30 percent sales growth this fiscal over the last fiscal.

The pre-owned car seller currently has 255 outlets in 162 cities.

Chadha said the firm had seen about five percent increase in petrol-driven used car sales in the last four months.

"We expect that number would go up further during the current financial year," he added.
