The nodal agency for handicrafts exports, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) has won the 'Best Display Stand' award for its theme stant at the Tex Trends India 2012.

Panabaaka Lakshmi, Minister of State for Textiles, presented the 'Best Display Stand' award to the theme stand of EPCH at the Tex Trends India 2012 during the Award Function at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Friday.

S.S. Gupta Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director of EPCH, jointly received the Trophy and the Certificate for the Best Display Stand in the presence of Kiran Dhingra, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.

It is pertinent to mention that EPCH had also received the Best Stand Award during the India International Trade Fair (IITF) held at Pragati Maidan in November 2011.

During the three-day exposition of Tex Trends India, EPCH’s  Theme Stand which has the exclusive display of Crafts of North Eastern Region received great response from the visitors and buyers.

The second edition of the Tex-Trends is held under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles and jointly participated by all the Export  Promotion Councils (EPCs) connected with textiles production, development and exports.

EPCH display focussed  on  Fashion Jewellery and Accessories segment comprising fashion products, in which 38 exhibitors from all over the country showcased a wide range of category-specific products to woo the overseas trade visitors.
