The two million tonne per annum plate mill at Nisha village near the district headquarter Angul, about 160 km from here, is part of JSPL's planned first phase 6.0 million tonnes per annum integrated steel plant in the state.
The plate has a market in oil and gas, water pipeline, shipping and power equipment manufacturing sectors.
The company is targeting to produce 15,000 tonnes at the mill next month and increase production gradually, said the official.
