The Odisha government on Thursday said it has cleared investment proposals worth Rs.50,605.52 crore through the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) to set up 55 industries in the last three years.

Replying to a written question of legislator Ayub Khan, industry minister Debi Prasad Mishra on Thursday told the state assembly that 55 project proposals have been approved through the SLSWCA between 2013-16.

The projects includes a Rs.8,000 crore proposal of Mahanadi Basin Power, a Rs.7,500 crore proposal of Tata Power and a Rs.7,563 crore project of Utkal Alumina International Ltd.

Meanwhile, the state government has asked district collectors to properly implement the single window system at the district level.

Chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi in a letter to all district collectors asked them to hold meetings of district level single window clearance authority (DLSWCA) and district level facilitation cells (DLFC) every month.

"It has been found during the meeting of the SLSWCA that these meeting are not being organised regularly in some districts. The collectors need to ensure that these meetings are organised regularly and effectively," said Padhi.

He said the DLSWCA and DLFC have the most critical role to play to promote MSMEs and ensure industrial development and generation of employment in the state.

Padhi also asked to ensure that all new proposals are submitted and processed through the e-biz portal.
