Chinese stocks opened lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.5 per cent to open at 2,815.2 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.68 per cent lower at 9,188.46 points, Xinhua news agency reported.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was down 1.08 per cent to open at 1,592.24 points.
