China's Xiamen Airlines has signed an agreement with American aviation giant Boeing to buy 40 737 aircraft worth over $3 billion.

Xiamen Airlines is a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines Co Ltd, China Daily reported. The listed price of the planes is $3.36 billion.

They will be delivered between 2016 and 2019, said China Southern Airlines, which has 51 percent stake in Xiamen. Xiamen's fleet, which only has Boeing planes, will increase to 121 aircraft.
