The unemployment in Spain fell by 27,814 people in July, which implies a decline of 0.6 percent compared with June, authorities said.

The month of July ended with 4,587,455 people unemployed, according to the ministry of employment and social security.

Although the unemployment has fallen over last month, it has increased by 507,713 people over last year, representing an increase of 12.44 percent, reported Xinhua.

Spanish Secretary of State for Employment Engracia Hidalgo emphasized that unemployment dropped four consecutive months. This is due mainly to tourism, the Easter holidays and summer.

Regarding gender, unemployment has declined among men by 0.67 percent and 0.54 percent in women compared to June. A number of 2,268,949 men and 2,318,506 women are unemployed.

Youth unemployment has also been reduced. Compared with June, the number of unemployed people who are under 25 years old has dropped by 12,611.
