While giving the details of the largest sourcing show in the Western Hemisphere and one of the largest and most important shows in the world, SOURCING at MAGIC - 2014, which will be held in Las Vegas, United States of America on 17-20 Aug 2014 in Las Vegas Convention Center, Senior Sales Manager of International Sourcing at MAGIC, Bob Berg told SME Times that the fashion industry will continue to grow with the economy as consumers have more disposable income.

Over 40 countries including India, China, the Orient, Africa, Central and South America and Europe are participating in the Expo.

Berg said that India has the largest and most diverse representation of any country other than China. "India is becoming more competitive in the US market as costs continue to rise in China in particular. India offers great designs and reasonable minimums that also contribute to the growing success in the US market," he added.
Excerpts of the interview...

Will you please share with our readers how the forthcoming edition of show - 'Sourcing at Magic' is different from previous editions?
Bob Berg: For the August 2014 show we will be highlighting an All About Denim focus area.  We are very excited to have leading companies in the industry on our show floor such as Jeanologia and Cotton Inc.  Also a focus in August is our HOME area within SOURCING at MAGIC.

Fashion apparel and accessory industries are growing rapidly, according to you how Sourcing at Magic contributes for the both of the industries?
Bob Berg: SOURCING at MAGIC has a dedicated accessory area comprised of leading manufacturers from numerous countries. The exhibitors offer production and designs in such categories as scarves, jewelry, hand bags, belts, leather products, hair accessories and much more.

Would you like give the brief details about exhibition?
Bob Berg: SOURCING at MAGIC is the largest sourcing show in the Western Hemisphere and one of the largest and most important in the world. There are exhibitors from more than 40 countries including the Orient, Africa, Central and South America and Europe.

How do you see the role of Sourcing at Magic for the new comers in the industry?
Bob Berg: SOURCING at MAGIC provides everyone in the industry information, introductions and exposure to the companies they need to know in order to launch a brand.

How do you see the presence of Indian exhibitors in the show?
Bob Berg: India has the largest and most diverse representation of any country other than China. India participants offers unique design capabilities that offers added value to buyers in addition to the quality products in apparel, accessories and footwear.

With US and world economy looking up how fashion industry is going to perform?
Bob Berg: Fashion will continue to grow with the economy as consumers have more disposable income.

How competitive India made goods in USA? What in your understanding is the positioning of India as one of the supplying country vis a vis other supplying nations?
Bob Berg: India is becoming more competitive in the US market as costs continue to rise in China in particular. India offers great designs and reasonable minimums that also contribute to the growing success in the US market. They also have an abundance of quality cotton and an experienced work force in the textile industry.

SMEs/SMB's (Small and Medium Enterprises/business) are playing a major role in the growth of country like India and they are the ones who participate the max. in various shows. Do you also expecting sizable participation from SMB's in the forthcoming show?
Bob Berg: Yes we have a sizable participation of small and medium companies and they are an important part of the supply chain.
