In an exclusive interview with SME Times, Sanjeev Gupta, Managing Director - Albion InfoTel Ltd said he feels the government today is more interested to fund SME projects and are providing all possible help and support from organization like NSIC, SIDBI, etc.

Excerpts of the interview...

Could you tell about the cloud computing services that can benefit customers?
Sanjeev Gupta: We have a wide spectrum of cloud solutions.  Albion CRM, Email, Datasafe, Remote View, DR as a service etc. are few to be named. All these solutions have been developed by our research and development wing, keeping in mind the ever changing customer’s requirements and needs. Our solutions are already protecting half a million systems, globally.

There is a concern in areas of security and privacy while moving to cloud services. How are you dealing with the data safety and security concerns of individual?
Sanjeev Gupta: There has been several concerns voiced against cloud computing related to its security and privacy. However there is also a positive side to it. It is a well known fact that IT administrators are the weakest links in any organization as far as confidentiality and security is concerned. In lack of proper security controls, there are numerous occasions where an insider IT staff found in malicious activities. In such scenarios, cloud could be a safe bid for businesses where data is protected and assured by a neutral third party.

Recently, Albion Infotel Ltd had launched the Albion Secure and Albion DataSafe products. Could you highlight about its features and products?
Sanjeev Gupta: Albion Secure is a internet security suite loaded with antivirus & personal firewall which further encompasses WEB-filtering, unique heuristic analysis algorithms, instant understanding of current level of protection and built-in tools for contacting. It works lightning-fast due to the lowest memory and processing usage. Albion DataSafe is a full incremental or differential backup option with full and selective restoration option (File extension, mailbox). It runs in the background mode, without effecting users’ work and furthermore compresses files before backup to save internet bandwidth. It is loaded with both onsite and cloud backup solution along with DR as a Service for Enterprises.

Tell me about your acquisition plans. How are you planning to expand business and customer base?
Sanjeev Gupta: In recognition of the continued importance of our Cloud Services and to ensure the highest levels of support for our clients and partners, we will strengthen our product portfolio by consistent development of new and improved cloud based solutions.  We also look forward for acquisition of companies with revenue of less than USD 10 Million in North America. We also aim to build a strong channel partner network of 240 value-added resellers (VARs) in India.

What about your other services and how it is helping the business community?
Sanjeev Gupta: We always believe in Customer First Mantra and have always developed solutions to meet the requirements of our clients especially the SMEs. Most of our solutions are based on OPEX model and hence are viable for small and medium size organization where funding remains a concern.

You must be aware about the government Information and Communication Technology (ICT) scheme for the MSME sector. How SMEs can take benefit from this scheme?
Sanjeev Gupta: Nowadays, Government is keen to fund the SME projects and wants to tap their potential for nation’s growth. SMEs should take all possible help and support from government organization like NSIC, SIDBI etc.

Being a SME, how are you managing and training people for building your business venture? Is skilling people or availing manpower a challenge even today?
Sanjeev Gupta: Not only SMEs but all organizations today recognize that Human Resource (HR) is their key asset to gaining an edge over competition and achieving organizational success and effectiveness. With help of our partners and professional training providers, we have been providing the much needed technical expertise to our staff so that they stay abreast of rapidly changing technology space.

Your message as a small and medium entity to our readers.
Sanjeev Gupta: At last, I will say that we cannot exhaust the creative power of our minds. If your mind can accept that something is achievable, it will find a way to attain that thing.
